These big commode or three drawer chests aren’t so easy to find and especially not with decorative folk painting, this one was evidently a marriage piece. It’s inscribed to a Saxon bride, Maria Libhart (or Liebhart), and dated 1901, with grain-painted design and flowers. It’s superb quality, typical German quality, built to last. Saxon/Eastern Europe c.1890
