From the 1950s, this large original lithograph advertised the health and beauty benefits of Berthemont-Les-Bains, a thermal spa town on the French Riviera.
Artist: Emmanuel Bellini was a French architect, painter, draughtsman, and figurative lithographer. Born in Monaco, Bellini grew up during the vibrant Belle Époque, a period that filled his childhood with sunshine, bright colors, and joyful scenes of aristocrats and gentlefolk frequenting casinos, opera houses, and the stunning coastline. These vivid memories would later become a significant source of inspiration for his art. He studied at the Rocher drawing school before embarking on a career with an architectural firm. A self-taught painter, Bellini balanced his architectural work in Cannes with his passion for art. Influenced by Fauvism and Impressionism, and known for his use of intense colors, Bellini's prolific output led to numerous exhibitions in the South of France. Among his admirers was Prince Rainier of Monaco, who cherished Bellini’s cheerful paintings and supported many of his exhibitions.
