Antique Rustic Box/Bed Bench in Original Green Paint

A charming rustic country bench from the hilly, mountainous region of Bukovina in Eastern Romania. Constructed in pine with hardwood uprights, it features a beautifully scrubbed pine seat and retains its original green paint, showing lovely wear, patina, and untouched condition.

The seat lifts to reveal useful storage beneath, while the front section cleverly pulls forward like a drawer to create a sleeping compartment—hence the two additional leg supports. Practical and well-designed, these multifunctional benches served as seating, storage, and an occasional guest bed.
